City of Biggs
title

The City of Biggs is a full-service, general law city with a population of 2,066 located in the fertile farmlands of the Sacramento Valley about an hour north of Sacramento.  Known as the "heart of rice country," Biggs is approximately 25 miles south of the City of Chico and 25 miles north of Yuba City, just off State Route 99, at an elevation of 93 feet. Biggs is approximately four miles north of the City of Gridley and 13 miles West of the Butte County seat in the City of Oroville..

Biggs is a growing community, where inexpensive housing, one of the lowest property tax rates in the state, a low crime rate, mild winters and warm summers, and neighbors that care about each other make this an excellent location to raise a family.

In the Heart of Rice Country

The City of Biggs is located in the heart of rice country in the Northern Sacramento Valley of California. Rice lands and orchards -- mostly walnut -- surround the city on all sides. The pastoral landscape is dotted with rice dryers and rice mills. Lake Oroville, the Thermalito Recreation Area and Gray Lodge Wildlife Area are only minutes away, offering a full range of boating, water recreation, bird hunting and waterfowl viewing.
